“Straight Up: Helicopters in Action”

A Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum giant screen celebration of helicopters and their many and vital roles in contemporary society around the world.

Straight Up: Helicopters in Action will take you on a series of aerial adventures. Fly along with skilled helicopter crews as they carry out sea and mountain rescues, apprehend drug smugglers, repair high voltage lines, save endangered animals, deliver humanitarian aid, and undertake a reconnaissance mission.  Learn how helicopters are flown.

Seating is limited so advanced reservation for members is suggested. Non-members are welcome if seats are available. Members please send an RSVP email to Aaron Brieger at

Technology Lecture Series

“Mr. Rhett Flater, American Helicopter Society (AHS) Executive Director to speak on rotorcraft trends and US government support.

Please welcome our distinguished speaker, Mr. Rhett Flater, American Helicopter Society (AHS) Executive Director. Mr. Flater will discuss AHS's Congressional/Government Agency agenda for 2007, including recent trends impacting the world and domestic rotorcraft industry; the decline in funding for rotorcraft research at NASA; the impact on U.S. Army Science and Technology (S&T) investment and the NASA/Army Agreement to Collaborate on Rotorcraft Research; implications for the future of Joint Heavy Lift, the Rotorcraft Centers of Excellence, the National Rotorcraft Technology Association (NRTC), the Center for Rotorcraft Innovation (CRI); and continued access to national aeronautics test facilities.

Please join us for Mr Flater's presentation, which will begin promptly at 7:30 am, Wednesday, 14 March-2007 in the Tech Auditorium. Seating is limited, so get there early! As usual, bring your badge for entry so we can use it to scan your attendance.
